Introduction – Jillian Yuzpe, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Providing compassionate support for symptoms of anxiety, including the perinatal period, parenting challenges, and emotional well-being. She also supports those with chronic pain and illness and health anxiety symptoms.
Hello! My name is Jillian, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I offer psychotherapy services for adolescents (16+) and adults seeking support with anxiety, parenting struggles, life transitions, trauma, chronic pain, health related anxiety, emotional regulation, and relationship challenges. I am particularly passionate about helping individuals who face difficulties with self-compassion and balancing their needs amidst the demands of daily life.
I believe that therapy is a journey—a way to navigate life’s challenges with someone walking alongside you. Whether you’re managing anxiety, adapting to the complexities of parenting, or facing a major life transition, you don’t have to do it alone.
I approach therapy using an integrative framework tailored to meet your unique needs, drawing on evidence-based approaches such as:
With a particular focus on mindfulness and self-compassion, I support clients in building resilience, improving self-awareness, and fostering self-acceptance. My goal is to create a culturally sensitive, safe, and respectful space where you feel supported and empowered to make meaningful changes in your life.
As a parent and co-parent of three amazing children, I understand firsthand the challenges that come with raising kids. This includes challenges and difficulties with single and solo parenting. Parenting can bring up anxiety, self-doubt, and feelings of overwhelm as you navigate your child’s needs while trying to prioritize your own. Whether you’re struggling with the pressures of parenthood, managing co-parenting dynamics, or simply trying to cultivate more peace in your home, I’m here to help you build strategies for success and create space for self-care along the way.
My path to becoming a psychotherapist began with my personal experiences supporting a loved one through mental health challenges. That journey led me to seek therapy for myself, where I discovered the profound impact of prioritizing my own well-being. Inspired by Brené Brown’s concept of “the unraveling” at mid-life, I’ve experienced firsthand how self-compassion and self-care can transform even the most difficult times into opportunities for growth.
Before transitioning to psychotherapy, I worked for a decade as a Chartered Accountant and spent several years as a qualified teacher. My experiences tutoring high school students with Pathways to Education further deepened my commitment to supporting adolescents and families.
Taking the first step toward counselling or psychotherapy can feel overwhelming, but investing in your mental health is one of the most meaningful decisions you can make. I offer a free consultation to help you explore your goals, ask questions about the process, and determine if we’re a good fit. Together, we’ll create a plan to address your concerns—whether it’s managing anxiety, improving parenting dynamics, or finding clarity during life’s transitions.
